About the farm

A family-run stud farm in south Kilkenny that boards and breeds horses.

The place

Castle Field is at Ballymagill, just outside Tullogher. The paddocks have traditional wooden board fencing, three to five boards high.

It's a stud farm, and horses bred here have gone on to win races. It's also a working farm, not an equestrian centre.

The people

Seamus owns the farm and looks after the horses himself. He has one member of staff, and his three grown-up children help out too.

If your horse isn't right, we'll tell you.

How the horses are looked after

Every horse is checked, fed and watered daily. They're turned out and brought in to suit the horse and the weather, and rugs are changed as needed.

We keep an eye on how each horse is doing. If anything's not right, we'll contact you.
